Good Parent
A good person does not generally always turn out to be a good parent. But a good parent must always be a good person.
This is a fact and there are not many I know who can deny this. A good parent has to be a person who loves and cares, not just his own self, but the society at large. There is a lot of giving involved in nurturing a child, more so if the child is adopted. To be able allow the flow of your own self for somebody else’s benefit requires a lot of large hearted openness on one’s part.
A good parent is one who is stable and steady in their approach to life. There may be times when one is confused about the right approach and the correct method, however the final goal is clear, and even more important is the fact that the final goal is one that benefits an individual.
Providing a stable childhood to the kid is extremely important and vital for the child to grow up into a mature and responsible adult. There needs to be the sense of balance between indulgence and punishment doled out to your child just like hybrid vehicles use both electricity and fuel in correct proportions.
There may be different styles adopted in the child rearing and nurturing process but the ultimate goal is to bring up a good natured human being in the society.
A bad childhood can have many repercussions which often become unmanageable in the latter part of one’s life. It is not to say that every convict or a bad natured human being has had an abused childhood, but the fact remains that a healthy atmosphere at home, increases the chances of a well behaved adult turning out of a child.
The goals of the household must be tuned to make a responsible and well turned human being of the child in the house. This may not be easy and definitely there isn’t a recipe book available to give guidance on how to achieve this goal. But the expertise and patience of willing parents is enough to be able to achieve this goal, may be slightly slower than planned but steadily, no doubt.
