Even a rainy day can be fun
When it rains outside it can ruin your whole day. You may have had great plans for some outside play with the kids that you are now forced to cancel at the last minute. There are lots of fun things that you can do with kids on rainy days. Don’t get discouraged. You can turn a rainy day into a day full of fun and laughs.
The first thing you can do is have a dance party or a karaoke contest. Get out the stereo and crank up some of your family’s favorite music. Challenge the kids to come up with the most unique and creative dance move. Ask them if they can come up with a dance to teach everyone else to do. This will let them get out some of the energy they may have bottled up. Some of your kids may enjoy singing. See if they can be creative enough to write their own song. You may be surprised by how much creativity your kids have.
Another great thing to do with kids on rainy days is to take advantage of it. If the rain takes a break from falling or is just drizzling why not go play. If it is warm out and the kids have some rain gear let them play. Strap on a pair of old, worn running shoes and go play with them. Jump in puddles and slip in slide in the mud. It can be cleaned up and you will make great memories. You could even take out some cooking objects and let them make mud pies. Your kids will have so much fun just being able to get dirty. Make sure to prepare before you go outside. Put towels by the door and make sure that there is something to step on for when you are coming in. A rainy day does not have to be a day lost. Go have fun with it.
